Security Director - Security
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy, policies, crisis management plans and standard operating procedures.
- Implement security infrastructure including video surveillance, alarm systems, and access control.
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate security staff ensuring consistent coverage and professionalism across all sites; delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure high levels of protection to staff, patients and assets.
- Conduct regular assessments of buildings, equipment, and security systems (e.g. surveillance, access control, alarms).
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders.
- Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports.
- Respond to security emergencies and serve as part of the emergency management team.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and all federal and tribal regulations.
- Oversee badge access control, visitor management, key issuance, and alarm response procedures.
- Ensure all security staff receive regular training in de-escalation, crisis intervention, active shooter response, and emergency drills.
- Maintain department budget and procurement of safety/security equipment.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership and make recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism when dealing with patients, visitors, vendors, and internal staff.
- Supports and actively participates in programs to ensure continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred. Requires 5+ years of progressive experience in security operations, crisis management, and facility management. Requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must have a background check and be able to pass a drug test. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must have experience with security software and systems. Must have experience with managing budgets and procurement processes. Must have experience with crisis management and emergency response protocols. Must have experience with de-escalation techniques and active shooter response training. Must have experience with visitor management and key issuance procedures. Must have experience with security staff training and development.
