Security DevOps Engineer

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer on Zoom’s Security DevOps team, you will work on high-impact infrastructure initiatives that power some of Zoom’s most security-critical production systems—including secrets management, secure service-to-service delivery, PKI, and secure deployment pipelines. This role blends software engineering, platform infrastructure/DevOps/SRE engineering, and security engineering. You will own projects end-to-end, from design through production rollout, while delivering measurable improvements to the security posture, reliability, and scalability of the platforms that protect Zoom and its customers.

You are an experienced engineer who operates with minimal oversight, makes sound technical decisions, understands DevOps and security/compliance best practices, and is recognized as a go-to contributor in at least one critical domain.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering security-focused infrastructure projects from concept to production implementation
• Operating and enhancing security-critical production services with emphasis on reliability and resilience
• Automating infrastructure and deployment workflows to minimize risk and reduce manual processes
• Collaborating with security, platform, and engineering teams to implement secure system updates effectively
• Enhancing observability and leveraging operational data to drive reliability and security improvements

Requirements

• Demonstrate 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform/Infrastructure/Cloud Engineering
• Experience managing large-scale production environments using Kubernetes-based systems
• Expertise in designing or operating security infrastructure (e.g., Vault, PKI systems, secrets delivery, identity systems, SDKs/APIs)
• Experience in at least one programming language used for production systems (e.g., Go, Python, Java)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ArgoCD)
• Able to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or GitLab Runners
• Understanding of observability and production monitoring in distributed systems
• Working experience in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, OCI)
• Experience operating and designing infrastructure in AWS GovCloud or other regulated cloud environments (e.g., FedRAMP, IL5), with an understanding of compliance and boundary requirements

Pay

Minimum Salary Range or On Target Earnings: $87,600.00 – $186,000.00

In addition to the base salary, Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that includes base salary, bonus, and equity value. Starting pay is based on qualifications, experience, and location.
