Security Designer

About the role

We are seeking ICT (Information & Communication Technology)/Physical Security Technicians/Designers to join our team. This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

• Imagining a day where you're at the forefront of collaboration, working with engineering teams and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions in Physical Security and Telecommunications.
• Leading technical discussions, resolving challenges, and ensuring designs meet all requirements.
• Guiding your team to exceed customer expectations.
• Producing floor plans, device layouts, riser diagrams, details, and system schematics for telecommunications, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection.
• Reviewing RFPs, scopes of work, and technical specifications for integrators and vendors.
• Reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Acting as a technical authority for telecommunications and/or physical security infrastructure.
• Designing cabling pathways such as conduits or cable tray systems as well as proper bonding systems.
• Maintaining knowledge of current industry product offerings and researching new emerging technologies.
• Aiding in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.
• Performing other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering Bachelor’s degree, RCDD or PSP is preferred.
• Entry level to five years of related work experience.
• A “can-do” and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
• Strong computer skills and a proficiency or ability to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency or ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is a bonus.
• Ability to learn new applications quickly.
• Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in security design and familiarity with Autodesk RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer).
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
