Security Designer
About the role
We are seeking ICT (Information & Communication Technology)/Physical Security Technicians/Designers to join our team. This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Imagining a day where you're at the forefront of collaboration, working with engineering teams and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions in Physical Security and Telecommunications.
- Leading technical discussions, resolving challenges, and ensuring designs meet all requirements.
- Guiding your team to exceed customer expectations.
- Producing floor plans, device layouts, riser diagrams, details, and system schematics for telecommunications, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection.
- Reviewing RFPs, scopes of work, and technical specifications for integrators and vendors.
- Reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Acting as a technical authority for telecommunications and/or physical security infrastructure.
- Designing cabling pathways such as conduits or cable tray systems as well as proper bonding systems.
- Maintaining knowledge of current industry product offerings and researching new emerging technologies.
- Aiding in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.
- Performing other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering Bachelor’s degree, RCDD or PSP is preferred.
- Entry level to five years of related work experience.
- A “can-do” and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
- Strong computer skills and a proficiency or ability to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency or ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is a bonus.
- Ability to learn new applications quickly.
- Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in security design and familiarity with Autodesk RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer).
