As a cyber mission specialist, you understand the value of hunt-forward operations, and you know that battles are won in the grey. At Booz Allen, you can use your cyberspace operations experience to create solutions that will be executed on a worldwide stage. We’re looking for a cyber mission specialist like you to apply your experience with identifying gaps in the application of key security controls and assessing the risk to our nation’s space assets.

About the role

In this role, you’ll help understand cyberspace capabilities to evaluate potential weaknesses as well as the effectiveness of mitigations for cybersecurity solutions. You will work with your team to review administrative and technical cybersecurity controls, then map potential vulnerabilities to real-world threats to inform senior leadership of risk at mission and agency level. This is an opportunity to use your research and analysis abilities to adequately assess and inform stakeholders and senior leadership on dynamic adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures for our client. Your role will be vital in the development of operations plans to support our return to the moon and explore the unknown.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of assessments, including program-scale operations
  • Convey complex security concepts to various stakeholders
  • Review administrative and technical cybersecurity controls
  • Map potential vulnerabilities to real-world threats
  • Inform senior leadership of risk at mission and agency level

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Security Control Assessments
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53 or 800-30 standards
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with Linux systems
  • Experience assessing non-traditional IT systems, including in a program-scale context
  • Ability to apply security measures across a range of IT systems
  • Ability to manage a rotating schedule of assessments
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.

Work model expectations:

  • Remote: If this position is listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid: If this position is listed as hybrid, you will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and the needs of the role. You may also be required to work from or visit a customer facility.
  • Onsite: If this position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
