Security Command Officer - HK - FT - Shift 2

Responsibilities

• Observes activities in the Helen Keller Hospital Medical District using patrol techniques.
• Responds to security incidents as required.
• Greet or transport patients as needed.
• Ensures all equipment is accounted for and reports defective or missing items to supervisor.
• Performs security functions for a designated area and assists busier officers when available.
• Records and reports arrival and departure times to Command Center when dispatched.
• Formulates written reports of incidents and actions taken.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and professional work area, disposing of litter and reporting hazards to the Monitor Room.
• Maintains and properly wears the uniform.
• Physically capable of driving any HKH vehicle or other necessary vehicles, subject to Employee Health interpretation.
• Uses MOAB techniques to de-escalate potential violent situations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred, some college preferred.
• Successfully complete the Huntsville Hospital P.R.I.D.E Academy.
• Security, military, or law enforcement experience with customer service experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable by HH standards.
• Supervisory and healthcare experience preferred.

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and changing tasks frequently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to enforce policies assertively but courteously.
• Some computer skills, including use of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
