About the role
The Senior Security Assistant provides support to the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management Division (C3BM) at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA. C3BM supports various focus areas including Architecture and Systems Engineering (ASE), Operational Response Team (ORT), and multiple mission integration teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily tactical level personnel security actions, including collateral, SAP, and SCI in- and out-processing
- Develop and manage security system data
- Develop monthly reporting
- Facilitate indoctrinations
- Track and update clearance status
- Support security education and awareness
- Provide technical advice and security support to multiple collateral programs and, where needed, SCI programs
- Develop and write security plans, transition plans, emergency action plans, transportation plans, and other security documents
- Review program documentation for public release, ensuring CUI has proper markings, classifications, and distribution statements
- Provide classification guidance and assistance for all collateral and SCI programs
- Prepare, process, and distribute classified mail
- Assist with classified package preparation and courier forms
- Conduct effective entry and exit inspections and random anti-terrorism measures
- Assist with security awareness and education programs, including creating or modifying presentations, brochures, or posters
- Give verbal and in-person security/force protection briefings
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Top Secret Level Clearance and SCI Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field with ten years of directly related experience, eight of which must be in the DoD
- Minimum SFPC Certification or equivalent experience
- Understanding of counterintelligence threats and trends
- Familiarity with security policy/manuals and DoD and Air Force directives, manuals, and instructions
- Basic knowledge of DD Form 254 and its incorporation in the Air Force acquisition process
- Maturity and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
- Predictable travel schedule of up to 10%
- Willingness to adapt to contingency schedules if required by unit
- Able to identify and safeguard classified documents
