Security Architecture Lead

For our client, we are seeking a Security Architecture Lead to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will shape enterprise security architecture strategy in support of complex, mission-driven technology environments. You will define trusted patterns, guide architecture decisions, and help ensure security requirements are embedded across modernization efforts. The position partners closely with architecture, engineering, governance, and risk stakeholders to improve alignment, reduce exposure, and strengthen enterprise resilience. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $161,000 – $241,400 annually Responsibilities Serve as the Security Architecture Lead for enterprise architecture Define and maintain enterprise security architecture principles and trusted patterns Guide architecture decisions on identity, access, and secure integration Ensure security requirements are integrated into modernization plans and design decisions Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate architectural trade-offs and enhance security alignment Identify architectural debt and security risks across the enterprise Participate in architecture reviews and governance forums Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field with 12+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 10+ years, or a PhD with 8+ years Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance Experience in security architecture, cyber architecture, or enterprise security engineering Proven track record in defining security standards and architectural guardrails in complex environments Strong understanding of secure system design and enterprise risk management Experience influencing architecture decisions across multiple technical domains Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and the defense compliance landscape Benefits Flexible work arrangements and a 9/80 work schedule option Exceptional healthcare and benefits package 401(k) matching program Opportunities for professional development and exposure to diverse projects Supportive team environment fostering innovation Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
