Security and Loss Prevention Expert, NA
This role is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team, leading efforts to provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across assigned operational business units. The position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.
Responsibilities
- Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
- Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
- Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
- Serve as the department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies, and performance.
- Identify, promote, and implement security best practices while partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives.
- Lead incident response planning, facilitation, and management.
- Perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events.
- Collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews to identify vulnerabilities and drive mitigating measures.
- Maintain the physical integrity of sites by auditing and monitoring system health, and collaborating with subject matter experts and external suppliers to ensure functionality.
- Identify and act on initiatives to improve physical security infrastructure and contribute to budgetary planning for external suppliers.
- Interact daily with external security service providers to ensure high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience.
- Work on multiple high-impact initiatives/projects by collaborating with stakeholders across organizational levels to deliver measurable outcomes through effective project management.
- Deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to teams across all management levels and manage the implementation of the S&LP plan.
- Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.
Requirements
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
- Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud.
- Work in an environment subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments).
- Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
- Work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as the role covers 24/7 operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
- 2+ years of experience in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
- Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.
- 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain.
- Investigative interviewing experience; Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment Certification, or other relevant certifications.
- Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and business continuity planning experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including use of Excel pivot tables and development of charts/graphics.

Pay
USA, TN, Memphis - $49,500.00 - $86,700.00 USD annually.
