About the role
The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team, leading the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.
Responsibilities
Key job responsibilities include identifying vulnerabilities and conducting root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The SLP Expert will actively monitor and report outcome for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities, manage confidential investigations, and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
The role also involves utilizing continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency, serving as department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert, and identifying, promoting and implementing security best practices. The SLP Expert will effectively partner with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives, and facilitate incident response planning and management.
Additional responsibilities include performing regular physical security audits, investigating policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events, and interacting with external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality security services. The SLP Expert will also deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams and manage the implementation of the S&LP plan.
Requirements
- Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable

Qualifications
Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience, and 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience.
Preferred qualifications include experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts, physical security systems maintenance/implementation, and coordinating scope of work with security vendors. Additionally, experience in operational risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain is preferred.
Investigative interviewing experience and relevant certifications, such as Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, or Certified Threat Assessment Certification, are also preferred.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $49,500.00 - $86,700.00 USD annually.
