About the role
The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team, leading the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End-to-End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. This position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.
Responsibilities
Key job responsibilities include identifying vulnerabilities and conducting root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The SLP Expert will also actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities, manage confidential investigations, and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
- Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency
- Serve as department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert keeping site leadership informed on department’s key issues, strategies, and performance
- Identify, promote, and implement security best practices while effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives
- Domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
- Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud; work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather
- Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs)
- Work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience, and 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience.
- Experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts
- Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors
- Operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain
- Investigative interviewing experience; Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Certified Threat Assessment Certification or other relevant certifications
- Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and business continuity planning experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; including use of Excel pivot tables and development of charts/graphics

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $49,500.00 - $86,700.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
