Security Analyst - Entry

About the role

This entry-level Security Analyst contract role supports a security-focused environment through monitoring and analyzing threat intelligence, reviewing logs and alerts, assisting with incident triage and escalation, documenting findings, supporting vulnerability management activities, contributing to security awareness efforts, and helping strengthen endpoint and network security. The position works closely with a mid-size team in an on-site setting and requires availability for Saturday and Sunday evening shifts following training. Contract type: 12‑month on‑site contract based in Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities

• Using available tools and playbooks to identify suspicious activity
• Supporting detection rule refinement
• Maintaining clear reports and documentation
• Assisting with automation and patch-related tasks

Requirements

• Understanding of security concepts and processes
• Understanding of basic computer and network concepts
• High School Diploma
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
• Located within a commutable distance to Columbia, SC
• Must pass all required pre-employment screenings and background checks
• Direct hire only; Corp-to-Corp (C2C) and agency submittals will not be considered
• Resumes must clearly demonstrate the required experience

Qualifications

• IT security role experience (1+ years)
• Server or Network Administration experience (1+ years)
• Experience with PowerShell, Group Policy, and Endpoint Management
• Knowledge of Vulnerability Management and Cloud Security
• Experience with SIEM and Endpoint Security Tools
• Bachelor's Degree in IT/CS/Cybersecurity or related field
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
• CompTIA Security+
• CompTIA Network+
• GIAC Incident Handler (GCIH)

Pay

Estimated hourly compensation: $25.25 - $33.25/hour

Schedule

Availability for Saturday and Sunday evening shifts following training (on-site)
