Securities Analyst II
About the role
This role will cover a broad area of responsibilities within Securities Services in one of the following areas: settlements, mutual fund settlements, outside trade support, or corporate actions. Expected to perform activities inclusive of trade support, clearance/settlement/investigations, and confirmations with direct supervision.

While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
Responsibilities
- Handles securities processing tasks of a more difficult nature and/or higher risk, including independently processing transactions of extremely high dollar amounts.
- Verifies trade settlement information at depository and in proprietary system.
- May execute new trades/instructions in various markets.
- Processes cash movement accurately and timely in accordance with prescribed deadlines and department procedures.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and departmental resource for ongoing questions and problem-solving for team members and others outside the department.
- Demonstrates accuracy and timeliness in work as evidenced through audits by senior securities analyst and/or department manager.
- Researches and resolves questions and inquiries from internal and external parties, communicating resolution in a timely manner. Often serves as the first line of contact for issues from administrators, custody reps, and investment staff.
- Contacts counter parties, including internal and external parties, to follow up on outstanding settlement issues, report and research fail activity, and communicate settlement issues with administration, vendors, depositories, and other interested parties according to established customer service guidelines.
- Promotes teamwork and participates in the cross-training of team members.
- Reconciles cash and security positions with internal and external counter parties on a daily basis.
- Verifies accuracy of incoming documents and processing work using internal quality assurance processes.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years of operations experience in the securities clearance industry.
- Intermediate knowledge of investments.
