About the Role
At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, you’ll lead a team of 8–15 engineers and analysts to deliver mission-planning solutions across programs, captures, and IRADs. You’ll serve as the subject-matter expert, grow team expertise, and execute a portfolio of projects while providing mentorship and career development for your section.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of engineers and analysts, ensuring suitable work assignments and growth opportunities.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert for mission planning, developing common solutions across programs and IRADs.
- Grow team expertise in mission planning methods, tools, and best practices.
- Execute and oversee project work for programs, captures, and IRADs, contributing as an individual when needed.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance development for direct reports.
- Participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance appraisals, and compensation processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws/regulations).
- Experience with mission planning for weapons, system performance, CONOPS, or algorithms and signal processing.
- Experience with aerodynamics, Launch Acceptability Regions, or modeling and simulation (e.g., 6-DOF).
- Experience with software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification (e.g., Linux, virtual machines, C#, C++, Java).
- Experience with aircraft integration and store interface (e.g., MIL STD 1553 and 1760).
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Previous management experience, including mentoring, team building, and hiring.
- Experience with Military CONOPs.
- Experience with datalink and GPS configuration and keying (e.g., Link-16).
- Existing TS/SCI security clearance or past qualification for this clearance.
- Knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), proposals, and Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
