About the role
We are seeking a Section Engineer to lead technical projects and ensure engineering excellence across utility infrastructure projects. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, setting priorities for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance, and overseeing complex engineering studies.
Responsibilities
- Directs engineering studies and contributes to performance evaluations across the section.
- Manages large specialized technical projects and develops studies, proposals, and commissioning plans to safely energize and place major utility and customer systems and equipment on the system.
- Supervises field activities and resolves complex issues.
- Monitors performance and provides feedback for the accomplishment of committed results.
- Trains, mentors, and provides guidance to other engineers.
- Participates in technical and industry societies and committees.
- Serves as an expert witness and provides expert opinions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 7 years of professional engineering experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering reduces the OJT experience requirement by 1 year.
- Licensed to practice in the state where you are practicing.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience in Transmission & Substation Engineering.
- Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills, report generation & technical writing skills.
- Working knowledge of analysis software packages such as CYMDIST, PSS\E, Python, PLS-CAD, Pole Foreman, Power BI, or similar.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree (1) or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management.
- Experience in supervisory roles or demonstrated ability to lead others.
- Advanced experience in utility infrastructure, such as system analysis, planning, design coordination, standards development, or project execution.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles.
- Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices.
- Advanced knowledge of latest technologies necessary to perform a variety of specialized unique or complex assignments for various installation types of services.

- Annual salary range: $112,000.00/Yr. – $154,000.00/Yr.
