About the role
The Medical College of Georgia, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a Section Chief at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. This faculty member will lead the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS).
Responsibilities
- Supervise junior faculty members and mid-level providers.
- Demonstrate outstanding activity in the teaching aspects of the Department, including developing faculty, providing lectures, and participating in mentorship.
- Provide teaching instruction and supervision to residents, fellows, and medical students.
- Participate in Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, and Division meetings.
Requirements
- MD; licensed/eligible for license in the state of Georgia with 5+ years of clinical and teaching experience.
- Board certified/eligible in OB/GYN or Urology.
- Board certified/eligible in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
- Experience as a mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, or as a senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training.
Qualifications
- Eager to help further expand the academic and clinical program.
- Well-trained in vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic pelvic reconstructive surgery.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality, educating the next generation of physicians, excellence in patient care, and advancement of knowledge through innovative clinical research.
- Leadership experience desired.

Salary and Schedule
- This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. Full-time commitment of 1.0 FTE.
- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
Location
The position is located on the Augusta University Medical Center or other Augusta University Health System Clinic Space.
