Secretary/Technician, Full Time Days, 8a - 4p, Pediatric Multidisciplinary Neurology, Atlantic Health, Morristown Medical Center

About the role

Supports Neuroscience clinics including Refractory Epilepsy, Neuromuscular Disorders, Plagiocephaly, Spasticity and Gait Disorders, and Goryeb Neuro-oncology Program. Administrative duties for all clinics including phone calls, check in and registration, and rooming.

Responsibilities

• Answering telephones, organizing medical records, greeting visitors and physicians, organizing the unit with forms and office supplies
• Assisting physicians and staff with electronic order entry
• Making and recording vital signs, helping to assure a safe patient care environment and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• License/Certifications: BLS preferred, CNA preferred
• Minimum Experience: 1-2 years previous patient care experience preferred; Customer service experience preferred
• Nursing assistant experience, or currently pursuing nursing degree, preferred
• Medical Assistant experience or registration acceptable
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a patient care coordination role within pediatrics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on working with children and their families
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in healthcare management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures specific to pediatric neurology
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with an understanding of the unique needs of pediatric patients
• Multi-lingual preferred
