This secondary special education teacher position aims to support student success and growth through personalized instruction and a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements school curriculum aligned with district goals
• Creates a diverse and culturally safe classroom environment
• Plans and delivers lessons according to NYS Standards
• Assesses student learning and adjusts instruction as necessary
• Instructs students in the "Spartan Way" and other subjects
• Engages parents/guardians in their children's education
• Maintains accurate records and reports for students
• Coordinates with other staff to evaluate curriculum and develop IEPs
• Supervises students during non-classroom activities
• Administers standardized tests as required

Requirements

• Successful teaching experience at the appropriate grade level
• Experience working with a diverse student population

Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Secondary Special Education
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
• Master's degree in related area preferred
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to engage and support culturally diverse students

$44,500 (negotiable based on experience)

Schedule

Full-time, 10-month (student calendar), 12-month paid schedule, 7-hour 40-minute day including a 35-minute duty-free lunch
