About the Role

A unique opportunity for educators passionate about alternative certification pathways. This role supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative teacher certification programs for K-12 schools across Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine alternative certification curriculum and assessment tools.
  • Collaborate with school districts, universities, and state agencies to align programs with Michigan educator standards.
  • Provide coaching and professional development to teacher candidates and mentor teachers.
  • Monitor candidate progress, collect data, and report outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Advocate for policy changes that expand access to high-quality teacher preparation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field.
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with at least five years of K-12 classroom experience.
  • Experience in teacher mentoring, induction, or alternative certification programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Michigan educator certification requirements and state education policies.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
