About the role

The Secondary Technician will report to the Production Supervisor and rotate between the Assembly, Quality, and Finishing departments to perform a variety of tasks to prepare parts for inspection and shipment.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Assembly of parts using manual and electrical equipment
Laser engraving of machined parts
Interpret and work from customer blueprints, assembly drawings, BOMs, and written/verbal instructions
Perform mechanical assembly of enclosures, chassis, and box builds
Accurately install specialized components, including Helicoils, precision dowel pins, using calibrated tools and strict process controls
Ensure alignment and fit of components using measuring tools and inspection methods
Proficient in the use of measuring instruments
Follow proper specifications and assembly sequences to meet quality standards
Record build documentation and complete traveler paperwork as required
Set up, operate and maintain Cleaning and Rinse tanks
Cleaning, drying and packaging of completed machine parts
Use sanders, abrasive wheels, fixtures, files, scrapers, and other hand tools
Perform tumbling deburring, bench operations and inspection of parts
Familiarity with basic machine functions to perform the tasks stated above
Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures
Assist in all packing and shipping functions
Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
Communicate honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrate effective listening skills
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
Maintain clean and organized workstations and adhere to 5S standards
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
0 - 2 years of experience in high-complexity mechanical assembly, ideally in aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing environments
Experience working in ISO/ AS9102-certified or aerospace/defense manufacturing environments is preferred
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, quality-first mindset

Physical Requirements

Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane
Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required
Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in noisy environments
Must have close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus and judge depth
Color vision is required
