About the Role

Lithonia High School is seeking a motivated Basketball Head Coach who has a passion for working with high school students. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal and will be responsible for game techniques and strategies to prepare the team for competition, as well as determining the need for individual or team improvement.

This is a temporary, community coach position that must be renewed annually.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing game techniques and strategies.
• Maintain inventory of athletic equipment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of first aid techniques.
• Maintain locker room and playing facilities.
• Accept directions from the Head Coach at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience and knowledge coaching sports preferred.
• Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate required.
• Valid certificate in first aid required.
