Second Cook - Stony Brook Southampton Hospital
Responsible for practicing and maintaining safe food handling standards according to the established HACCP guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare attractive and edible food for Patient & Retail Services.
- Report to Executive Chef or Manager on duty any issues related to food, equipment, or safety hazards.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Suffolk County Food Handlers or Serv-Safe Certification
- Able to stand for the majority of the day
- Occasional heavy lifting when handling food
- Visual and auditory acuity
- Able to adjust to hot and cold temperatures
- May require travel to other locations to support operational needs
- Must successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references
- Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen
- Meet regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s)
- This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair
- This function/position may be designated as “essential,” requiring employees to remain at or report to work during institutional emergencies
Pay
$29.40 - $31.51 / Hour
