About the Role
Prepare food for various catered functions and assist in cooking a wide variety of foods for small and large events.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food for catered functions such as dinners, luncheons, banquets, and receptions.
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods including meats, fowl, seafood, soups, gravies, salads, fruits, vegetables, and desserts.
- Use judgment to determine food quantities and timing to ensure items are ready for serving on schedule.
- Observe safety and health regulations, maintaining high standards of sanitation and customer service.
Requirements
- High school education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of food service experience, including restaurant or catering cooking experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Standing 85% – 100% of the shift.
- Frequent bending at the waist, below the knee, stooping, and/or crouching.
- Frequent walking throughout the kitchen and food service areas.
- Frequent twisting and bending of head, neck, and torso.
- Full range of arm movement (extension, twisting, bending, reaching overhead, stirring, mixing, wiping, etc.).
- Listening to and instructing staff; visual and cognitive capability to read instructions, recipes, and perform math functions.
- Frequently lifting and carrying 30 – 50 lbs; able to lift up to 20 lbs overhead.
- Repetitive wrist movement (e.g., chopping, cutting, slicing, shredding, flipping, wiping, scrubbing).
- Able to work in extreme heat and outdoors in inclement weather.
- Wrist and finger dexterity for fine motor skills (e.g., using tongs, scissors, knives, small utensils).
- Able to push and pull up to 250 lbs.

- Food slicer, grill, deep fryer, convection oven, steamer, dishwasher, deck ovens, mixer, steam kettle, tilt brazier, buffalo chopper, charcoal broiler, truck, and other kitchen equipment.
