Second Chef

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Cook / Second Chef to support our catering team in delivering freshly prepared, nutritious, and appetising meals for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve balanced, high-quality meals in line with residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Support the Head Chef in menu planning, stock control, and ordering supplies.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards.
• Aid in supervising and training kitchen staff as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times.
• Adapt meals for residents with modified or specialist diets.
• Contribute to a positive dining experience that promotes residents’ wellbeing.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a care or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of dietary needs and nutritional requirements for older adults.
• Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or above).
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a small team.
• Passion for creating delicious, comforting food that residents enjoy.
