About the role
Truck drivers work on a crew or out of a yard delivering equipment and materials to and from job sites, as well as working on job sites. Performs duties as directed by foreman while operating equipment such as backhoes, excavators, vibratory or static plows, trenchers, or directional bore machines in the installation, removal, or maintenance of underground utilities and pipe installation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure correct cargo makes it safely to its destination on schedule and appropriate paperwork is completed.
- Assist crews by working on job sites performing various labor-intensive tasks such as hand digging, operating, fusion (depending on qualifications), and cleanup.
- Perform construction and maintenance duties related to the natural gas industry, requiring the necessary knowledge, skill, and physical ability.
- Operate within short time frames as needed.
- Interact professionally with customers and the public.
- Work well with others and follow all safety policies and procedures per company and utility customer standards.
- Load material or equipment for transport from show-up yard to job site and secure as appropriate.
- Secure work site, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials.
Requirements
- Class A CDL valid driver’s license with combination vehicle and air brake endorsement.
- Clean driving record and current medical card.
- 3 years prior operating experience and knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
- Ability to maneuver trucks and drive long hours with regular travel.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment.

- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
