Mission
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Value Optimization Engineer to drive cost efficiency and technical excellence across our automotive systems. In this role, you will act as a bridge between engineering and finance, utilizing benchmarking and value engineering to optimize components without sacrificing quality or performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Reduction & Strategy: Identify and champion cost-saving opportunities across various vehicle systems and components.
- Benchmarking & Analysis: Lead teardown analyses and competitive studies to understand industry trends and competitor cost structures.
- Idea Generation: Facilitate value optimization workshops with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to brainstorm high-impact savings.
- Design-to-Cost (DTC): Support standardization and DTC activities to ensure cost targets are integrated early in the design phase.
- Project Reporting: Present detailed subsystem-level optimization results and project status updates to stakeholders.
- Systems Management: Maintain and manage critical engineering tools and databases, including eVOS, MCM, and benchmarking repositories.
Profile
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses a mix of technical engineering knowledge and a sharp eye for financial optimization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
- Experience: 3+ years in automotive engineering, cost engineering, benchmarking, or value optimization.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of vehicle systems, modern manufacturing processes, and materials science.
- Core Competencies: Excellent analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills for global team collaboration.
- Preferred Tools: Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as A2MAC1, eVOS, or MCM.
- Industry Context: Previous experience working directly with OEMs or Tier 1 automotive suppliers and a solid grasp of teardown methodologies.
