Seasonal Waterways Assistant, Marine & Environmental Affairs

About the role

Assist with the daily operations of all harbor-related programs and tasks, including waterway services, pumpout services, marina services, and mooring services. Perform all other related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of harbor programs and services
• Assist with waterway, pumpout, marina, and mooring services
• Perform additional related tasks as needed

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent coursework
• Experience dealing with the general public
• Two years of boating experience
• Safe boating certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• MA Class D driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years old

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of small boat operation and boat handling, including docking and launching
• Working knowledge of waterfront operations and practices
• Safe boating certificate preferred
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Strong boat handling and interpersonal skills
• Good motor and coordination skills

Schedule

Weekend and holiday work required. Hours vary.
