Seasonal TurboTax Community Tax Expert - Online Writing Role

Join a remote team that shares your passion for tax, camaraderie, and mutual support. This work-from-home position allows you to support TurboTax customers by providing high-quality written responses to tax and technical questions in our online Community, helping them complete their tax returns.

Responsibilities

• Support TurboTax customers by providing accurate, clear, and concise written responses to tax and technical questions in our online Community.
• Produce written content quickly and proficiently while meeting defined quality and productivity goals.
• Participate in various writing-based projects as needed.

Requirements

• Active EA Certification, CPA, or JD (practicing attorney in taxation).
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience preparing federal (individual Form 1040) and state income tax returns using professional tax software in a work environment. Additional experience with business returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041) is a plus.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely, using simple language to explain complex tax issues.
• Excellent command of the English language, including spelling and grammar.
• Ability to understand and interpret customers' tax questions without seeing their tax return.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Technical proficiency using cloud-based applications, search engines, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and file management.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule (40 hours per week), flexible within five set days of the week.

Work Environment

• Fully remote, work-from-home position.
• Ability to type or use voice-to-text proficiently.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position varies by work location:

• California Remote (Bay Area): $43–$58 per hour
• California Remote (Not Bay Area): $40–$54 per hour
• Colorado Remote: $30–$40 per hour
• Hawaii Remote: $31.5–$42 per hour
• Illinois Remote: $30–$40 per hour
• Maine Remote: $27–$36.5 per hour
• Maryland Remote: $30–$40 per hour
• Massachusetts Remote: $31.5–$42 per hour
• New Jersey Remote: $31.5–$42 per hour
• New York Remote: $36.5–$49.5 per hour
• Ohio Remote: $27–$36.5 per hour
• Vermont Remote: $30–$40 per hour
• Virginia Remote: $30–$40 per hour
• Washington Remote: $31.5–$42 per hour
• Washington, DC Remote: $30–$40 per hour
