Seasonal Trainer DTC - 2nd shift

About the role

The DTC Trainer directs and facilitates training for employees—temporary, newly hired full-time, new to a department, in need of recertification, or requiring help to improve performance. The Trainer may participate in or lead a variety of training exercises, communicating Mattel's values, training procedures, product handling techniques, documentation/customer service requirements, and safety guidelines vital in our distribution center.

The Trainer tracks trainees' learning progress, makes recommendations to improve performance, and examines work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. They interact with Leads, Supervisors, Human Resources, and the Operations Manager to evaluate and critique DC training programs, aiming to provide the best training and work experience possible.

Advises trainees' direct Supervisors on individual progress to determine succession planning and employee readiness, making recommendations on strategies to improve performance, readiness for advancement, and fitness for hire. The Trainer occasionally conducts formal classroom training and small group sessions on the floor, ensuring all Mattel safety and security policies are followed. As needed, the DTC Trainer will also perform the work of a warehouse technician.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and explain Mattel’s values, training procedures, product handling techniques, documentation/customer service requirements, and safety guidelines.
• Track trainees' learning progress and make recommendations for performance improvement.
• Evaluate work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Interact with Leads, Supervisors, Human Resources, and the Operations Manager to assess and improve DC training programs.
• Advise Supervisors on trainee progress for succession planning and employee readiness.
• Recommend strategies to improve performance and readiness for advancement or hire.
• Conduct formal classroom training and small group sessions on the floor.
• Ensure compliance with all Mattel safety and security policies and procedures.
• Perform warehouse technician duties as needed.
