Seasonal Temporary Associate

About the role

HomeGoods, part of TJX Companies, is seeking a team member who will deliver a highly satisfied customer experience, uphold operational and loss‑prevention standards, and help maintain a clean and organized store environment. The role may involve cross‑training in multiple store areas to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers and embodying customer experience principles.
• Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss‑prevention standards.
• Cross‑train to work in multiple areas of the store as needed.
• Role model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases/returns and count change back to the customer according to established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day.
• Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and assist with overall store cleanliness.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink‑reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capability to multi‑task.
• Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Capability of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective teamwork with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.

Pay

This position has a starting pay range of USD $13.50 to $14.00 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
