Seasonal Small Engine Mechanic

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of outboard motors.
• Auxiliary maintenance and repair of equipment, gas and diesel engines, structures, vehicles and machinery for Hualapai River Running.
• Maintain logs of maintenance and repair activities for outboard motors.
• Schedule regular motor maintenance.
• Interpret and translate information from maintenance and repair manuals.
• Maintain maintenance equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
• Assist with inventory and order shop supplies, when authorized.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Good oral communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
• Prior auto mechanic experience or equivalent training or education desired.
• High School Diploma or GED and 21 years of age.
• Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

Working Conditions

• Position requires ability to work indoors in a shop environment as well as in outdoor environment occasionally.
• Must be able to routinely walk, stand, bend and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs as part of duties.
• Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends and holidays.
