SEASONAL SALES ASSOCIATE (VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS)

Must be available to work November through January, including the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, and must be able to work weekends. Opportunity for continued employment after the holidays.

As a sales associate, you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will assist customers, helping them recognize the need for our products and services, and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. A positive and outgoing nature with a passion for serving others is essential.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and connect with customers by asking questions and listening to their needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
• Provide premier customer service and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
• Maintain store appearance and organization.
• Cross-sell products and know the store layout to make personalized suggestions based on customer needs and trends.
• Upsell products and stay updated on product features and trends using company tools and technology.
• Operate a Point-of-Sales system, process cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, and discounts, including cash handling and accurate money returns.
• Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation tasks.
• Manage inventory processes, ensure merchandise is properly checked in, accurately ticketed, and participate in periodic inventories.
• Adhere to assigned work schedules and follow through on work assignments accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication with customers, peers, and management, including proper telephone etiquette.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to multi-task, remain attentive to customers, and work flexibly to meet business needs.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Involves lifting at least 25 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
• Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.

Schedule

Flexible (0 - 19.5 hours per week). Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
