SEASONAL Sales Associate

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, friendly, and hard-working Seasonal Summer Sales Associates. This role focuses on providing exemplary selling and customer service to improve store productivity and profitability. The associate will work proactively with customers to offer product recommendations and solutions, serving as a role model for best retail practices. The position emphasizes sales, service, and relationship-building while also handling inventory management, product stocking, housekeeping, and stockroom duties as assigned.

This is a seasonal, hourly position running from May 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026. Employment will terminate at the end of the season, though rehire eligibility for future seasonal or regular positions may be considered for those in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a warm, inviting, and easy-to-navigate shopping environment.
• Build and share expertise on products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs tailored to diverse customer needs.
• Assist customers in finding the perfect card and gift solutions for their needs.
• Share stories and reinforce a community of caring to inspire customers.
• Handle store operations, including product replenishment, merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling online orders, and curbside deliveries.
• Deliver an exceptional shopping experience that leaves customers inspired and eager to return.
• Work as a team to meet store sales goals by ensuring customers leave with everything they need—and a few extras.
• Uphold all company policies and practices.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including maintaining the backroom, front of store, and restrooms.
• Complete other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• If under 18, must meet work permit requirements (if applicable).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Continuously stand, walk, push, pull, and lift/carry up to 10 pounds.
• Frequently bend at the waist, climb ladders, kneel, squat, lift/carry up to 40 pounds, and reach overhead.
• Occasionally balance on uneven surfaces and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Rarely drive or travel, lift/carry up to 75 pounds, or remain seated for extended periods.
• Continuously communicate with customers, coworkers, and vendors in-person or over the phone, requiring speaking, hearing, and sight.
• Exposure to dust, cleaning agents, truck exhaust, inadequate lighting, noise, scents (e.g., candles, lotions), outdoor work, and heights in the stockroom or sales floor.

Schedule

This is a seasonal, non-exempt hourly position, typically working 6 to 20 hours per week, not to exceed an average of 28 hours per week.
