Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly: approach and acknowledge customers immediately, providing assistance and handling multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs: assess needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations.
• Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions: inform customers about current store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns: address issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate needs to management: regularly inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and any customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Support team and company goals: collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (computers, cash registers, hand‑held and mobile devices).
• Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues/concerns courteously and professionally.
• Use basic information‑gathering skills to solve problems.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on‑the‑job training.
• Essential job functions: frequently operate cash register, computer, hand‑held, phone, walkie, and mobile devices; frequently move merchandise up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5‑10 ft; frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock; frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor; frequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face‑to‑face, as well as with managers and coworkers; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers and to/from the stock room retrieving and putting away merchandise; ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, which may require day, evening, weekends, overnight shifts and travel; must be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures; must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.

Pay

Position Type: Hourly – Starting at $16.00 per hour.

Schedule

Temporary Seasonal Sales Associate role for the busy holiday season (October through January). Requires a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, and may involve overnight shifts and travel as needed.
