Seasonal Retail Sales - Holiday Gift Shop - University Town Center

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve sales goals for both in‑store and digital selling, using selling tools such as text and social media.
• Build lasting relationships with customers.
• Provide the best service to customers on their terms.
• Offer honest and confident feedback about style and fit.
• Seek fashion and product knowledge to build expertise.
• Keep the department “customer ready” by filling orders, stocking, re‑merchandising, applying price markdowns, and performing light cleaning.
• Grow relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
• Flexibly perform work or duties in other departments as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Handling bulky or awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 lb and occasionally up to 25 lb.

Pay

The hourly rate ranges from $21.05 to $21.90, depending on location and job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Commission rates vary by merchandise category: apparel, shoes, and accessories typically earn 3%–14.5% commission, while beauty and men’s fragrance sales earn 3%. This role may also be eligible for performance‑based incentives or bonuses.
