Seasonal Retail Sales Associate- West Jordan

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Sales Associate to join our team at Holiday Oil. This family-owned business has been in Utah for 60 years and operates over 77 stores. As a Sales Associate, you will assist customers with purchases, operate the cash register, restock merchandise, and maintain a clean and safe store environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner
• Accurately process transactions using the cash register and handle payments
• Stock shelves and coolers with merchandise
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, including the sales floor, restrooms, and fuel pumps
• Monitor fuel pumps and assist customers as needed
• Follow safety and security procedures, including age verification for restricted products
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally

Skills & Requirements

• Familiarity with electronic equipment, including cash registers and other POS systems
• Basic math skills and proficiency in using computers
• Effective communication skills and a strong customer focus
• Ability to collaborate with the team to manage workload and pace effectively
• Willingness to learn about store processes, products, and services
• Ability to remain composed in confrontational situations
• Capability to work in a high-volume, sometimes high-pressure environment
• Flexibility to work a schedule that includes Sunday through Saturday
• Availability to open and close the store as needed
• Must be able to work in cold environments, such as outdoor cold weather and indoor coolers
• Must also be able to work in heat during the summer months to perform outdoor duties
