About the role

Seneca Foods Corporation in Leicester, NY is seeking seasonal production workers for its 2026 production season. Seneca Foods is one of North America's leading providers of packaged fruits and vegetables with facilities located throughout the United States. Our high quality products are primarily sourced from over 2,000 American farms. Seneca holds the largest share of the retail private label, food service, and export canned vegetable markets, distributing to over 90 countries. Products are also sold under the brands of Libby's®, Aunt Nellie's®, READ®, Seneca Farms®, Green Valley®, CherryMan®, Paradise®, Pennant®, and Seneca labels, including Seneca snack chips. Seneca also provides vegetable products to other companies under various co-pack arrangements.

Season dates

This work will be available during the following dates in 2026:

  • Beets – Mid-July through late October / early November
  • Carrots – mid-September through late October / early November
  • Mixed Garden Vegetables (MGV) – late October through mid/late November

This timeframe is tentative and can be affected by weather and crop availability.

Positions available

Both first and second shift positions available include:

  • Line Workers
  • Machine Operators
  • Forklift Operators
  • Sanitation Workers
  • Maintenance positions
  • Other roles as determined/needed

Job duties

  • Fulfill various production line positions in our food production facility processing fresh vegetables
  • Perform sanitation functions on a regular basis to prepare the plant for the next scheduled production run
  • Provide relief during other employee's break periods
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety policies/procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay

Annual salary wage range based on skills, abilities and experience from $16.18-$16.90. Additional $0.25 shift differential for night shift ONLY.

Schedule

Seneca provides safe working conditions, paid overtime over 40 hours per week, 12 hour shifts, and on-the-job training. The manufacturing plant typically runs 24 hours per day and 7 days per week, but shift start/end times may vary as well as the number of days worked per week due to weather and the crop that is available to harvest.
