Seasonal Product Designer

About the role

The Design team at Target is seeking a skilled designer who can create unique products that align with merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in design, fine art, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive concepts throughout the development process, including research, selection of materials/finishes, and the creation of silhouettes/form language.
• Translate ideas for product direction using CAD/hand sketches, preparing professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and material samples.
• Work closely with technical designers/engineers and sourcing partners to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues.
• Ensure brand cohesion by collaborating with peers across the division to maintain continuity.
• Manage workload diligently, communicate effectively with internal and external partners, and support the overall design and development of Target-owned brands.

Requirements

• A four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
• Knowledge of textiles, garment construction/fit, or raw materials & product production.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in a retail or product development environment.
• Ability to build relationships in a team environment.
• Experience responding to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work 3 days per week in office from our Downtown Minneapolis campus or willing to relocate to MN.

Pay

The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00, based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

Schedule

This role requires 3 days per week in office from our Downtown Minneapolis campus or willingness to relocate to MN.
