About the role
At Cheekwood, the Parking team manages traffic flow, directs vehicles to designated parking areas, ensures safety, and provides customer service to ensure a smooth and organized parking experience for attendees. Joining the Cheekwood Parking team offers a unique opportunity to work in a peaceful and beautiful environment while ensuring the safety and protection of visitors and staff. It provides a chance to interact with diverse groups of people, from garden enthusiasts to tourists, and offers the satisfaction of contributing to the preservation of a cultural and historical site.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and neat uniform and appearance.
- Direct patrons to available parking areas, ensuring efficient traffic flow and preventing congestion.
- Provide positive interaction with visitors, answering questions and giving clear directions to parking lots.
- Become knowledgeable of Cheekwood’s history and basic facts of interest to visitors.
- Effectively communicate on the radio with other employees while monitoring parking spaces.
- Respond quickly to incidents, stay in touch via radio, and file accurate incident reports.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the operations team.
- Work weekends, evenings, and stand or walk for long periods in all weather conditions.
Schedule
- Monday through Sunday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday nights: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM (beginning in summer)
- Fall and winter evening events: generally 4:30 PM – 10:00 PM
