Seasonal Operations Positions (Multiple roles & shifts)
About the role
The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County is a provider of services and emergency shelter for individuals in Washtenaw County. Services are offered through core programs such as Residential Emergency Shelter, Non-Residential Shelter, Shelter Diversion, Critical-Time Intervention, and Warming Shelter. The organization is committed to ending homelessness, one person at a time.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of all guests
- Perform duties in a manner consistent with the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County's overall mission
- Support the smooth operation of the shelter floors during assigned shift
- Operate out of St. Luke’s church in Ypsilanti, MI for daytime shifts
- Operate out of multiple sites for off-site shifts
- Complete intakes for winter programs in the evening
- Aid in completion and coordination of client intakes/assessments using HMIS
- Document various client information and activities in HMIS and staff notes
- Assist with data reports and monitoring needs for winter programs
Qualifications
- Associate's degree, professional certification, BS or BA in Social Work or one to two years of experience in the human service field
- Knowledge of housing instability, mental health, substance use disorders, and poverty issues is helpful
Benefits
Health and safety measures are in place to ensure the health and safety of clients and staff. This includes responding to communicable contagions according to CDC/Public Health guidance, utilizing and following PPE training, and coordinating with local hospital systems and Public Health.
Schedule
Shifts are available in day, afternoon, and midnight positions. The timeline could be extended based on weather conditions and county guidance. Off-site shifts require a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Pay
- Hourly rate for Operations Specialist positions is $19.92/hr
- Winter Intake Specialist hourly pay is $20.15
