About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is hiring full-time seasonal contracts for experienced Labor and Delivery Nurses. This is a 13-week contract with a completion bonus of $1,500. Status is full-time at 36 hours per week, with day and night shifts available. Work with an amazing team of professionals in a fast-paced, high acuity Labor and Delivery department. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a Level One, 630-bed multi-specialty care, teaching hospital and a Level 4 Maternal Care Designated facility.

Responsibilities

• As a Seasonal RN, align with the nursing model to manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, and create and implement care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and help patients navigate the healthcare system safely to reduce complications.
• Use expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
• Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
• Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly, making adjustments as needed.
• Create safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
• Manage emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited RN program.
• A valid Registered Nurse license.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• 2 years of current Labor and Delivery RN experience required.
• Experience in a Level 3 or 4 designated care level highly preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of standards and procedures in nursing and patient care.
• Effective communication skills to articulate thoughts clearly and interact with diverse groups of people.
• Proficient problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to provide quality patient care.
• Flexibility and excellent communication for sharing changes in patient health conditions promptly and efficiently.
