Seasonal Immunizing Pharmacist Part Time

Job Purpose And Summary

This role supports in-store clinics for vaccines only. It involves traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts, supporting the pharmacy team, and managing the pharmacy's operations.

About the role

As a District Support Pharmacist (DSP), you will act as a role model for the pharmacy team, demonstrate genuine care, and set the bar for the pharmacy team. You will also contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the pharmacy team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
• Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC)
• Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
• Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory in all pharmacies worked by following and guiding the pharmacy team to follow all inventory best practices
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills for the job as the industry evolves (including but not limited to company-required trainings and CMEs)
• Support access to care and help improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception, etc.) where permissible
• Empower the pharmacy team to provide holistic care at every step in the patient care journey

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Qualifications

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
