Seasonal Grounds Assistant

About the role

The Seasonal Grounds Assistant helps maintain the cemetery and mausoleum grounds, ensuring they are attractive, orderly, and healthy. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and is physically demanding, involving frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and shoveling.

Responsibilities

• Care for plants and trees
• Rake and mulch leaves
• Perform string trimming
• Mow grass regularly
• Remove debris from graves
• Assist with general grounds maintenance tasks

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess a valid Driver’s license
• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses
• Basic knowledge of lawn maintenance equipment operation (e.g., string trimmers, rakes, lawnmowers, dirt shovels)
• Ability to perform minimum maintenance on equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, trimmers)

Schedule

Seasonal position available in spring, summer, and fall months for up to 40 hours per week.
