Seasonal Grain Operations Worker

About the role

The Grain Operations Worker supports daily grain operations through hands‑on involvement in receiving, inspection, storage, and loading of corn and wheat across a large agricultural facility. This includes unloading trucks, operating rail and locomotive equipment, running PLC systems for rail shed operations, supporting extended unloading and loading activities during harvest seasons, and performing ongoing facility housekeeping such as cleaning bins, pits, and equipment to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection activities such as probing trucks
• Operate grain handling and receiving equipment at truck dumps
• Perform general housekeeping activities such as bin clean up
• Unload trucks and operate rail and locomotive equipment
• Run PLC systems for rail shed operations
• Support extended unloading and loading activities during harvest seasons
• Maintain facility housekeeping, including cleaning bins, pits, and equipment

Requirements

• Minimal job‑related experience; work is prescribed and completed with close supervision and little autonomy
• Duties are clearly defined with detailed methods and tasks
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds
• Ability to climb, stoop, or kneel at heights up to 180 feet
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
• Exposure to dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Previous grain operations experience preferred
