Seasonal - Grain Elevator Operator - Barge Facility Laborer

About the role

The Seasonal Barge Facility Tech position supports barge operations, truck receiving, scale/probe activities, and grain handling. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre-shift meetings.
• Comply with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable).
• Read drafts, open/close lids, tie off barges, load/unload barges, rail cars, and trucks.
• Ensure grain quality during loading and unloading processes.
• Operate scales and probes as required.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely.
• Perform general clean-up tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Unload barges, clean barges, move product to storage, load trucks using heavy equipment, and load products to required specifications.
• Operate various heavy equipment as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• None required.
• Preferred: 1 year’s experience working in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.
• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to complete documentation requirements.
• Ability to follow directions and troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to use tools appropriate for assigned tasks.
• Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service.
