Position Description
Ideal candidate must be highly driven, maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment. The Event Assistant is responsible for assisting the Sales and Venue Operations Manager with but, not limited to, vendor load in/out, managing vendors on-site, receiving deliveries, and upholding rules of the park.
Position Responsibilities and Specifications
- Ensure high level of service while maintaining a professional and personable demeanor with clients and vendors.
- Communicate effectively across departments.
- Oversee vendor delivery, load in, set up, while enforcing park rules for guest experience and safety.
- Oversee vendor load out, enforcing established breakdown procedures.
- Assist and give direction to supplemental staff.
- Monitor vendors during course of day to enforce and maintain fire safety.
- Assist with receiving, stocking and keeping inventory of on-site product.
- Conducting site visits on behalf of Sales and Venue Operations Manager.
- Aid Fire Marshall and Department of Buildings inspection.
- Follow all WCS safety and security policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties assigned by Sales Manager.
Qualification Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
- Prior event or production experience preferred.
- Must have strong verbal communication skills.
- Must have full availability including day shift, mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and follow instructions.
- Must be able to work independently and/or with other team members with limited supervision.
- Must be able to lift 50-pounds.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license required; New York residents must possess a valid New York license; valid out-of-state license required for out-of-state residents.
Schedule
The work schedule for this temporary position based out of the Central Park Zoo from approximately May – November. Position requires flexible availability to work non-standard hours including morning, evenings, holidays, and weekends. Hours are based on events schedule.
Pay
Salary Range $20/hour - $25/hour
