We're hiring Seasonal Equipment Operators to support our snow & ice management team throughout the winter season. Operators are responsible for running skid steers, wheel loaders, or similar heavy equipment to safely and efficiently clear snow on commercial properties. Equipment is typically staged on client sites, so operators report directly to their assigned machine when snow events occur. This is an on-call, weather-dependent role with opportunities for top-tier seasonal earnings and potential for year-round employment based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers, wheel loaders, and similar equipment during snow events
- Clear parking lots, drive lanes, walkways, and high-traffic commercial areas
- Apply salt/ice melt using equipment-mounted spreaders when needed
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent property damage
- Perform basic equipment checks (fluids, tires, lights) before operation
- Report any equipment issues immediately
- Coordinate with Crew Leaders and shovel teams during larger storms
- Represent Dohner Ltd. with professionalism at all times
Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience operating skid steers, wheel loaders, or similar equipment
- Reliable transportation to the equipment location
- Ability to work flexible, weather-driven hours (nights, early mornings, weekends)
- Dependable, safety-focused work ethic
- Ability to work in extreme winter conditions
- Previous snow removal experience
- Experience with push boxes or salt spreaders
- Interest in transitioning to a year-round role in landscaping or construction
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $30 to $50/hour, based on experience and equipment
- Seasonal role from November through April
- On-call schedule depending on snowfall
- Overtime available during major storms
- W-2 position
