Seasonal Election Clerk

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Under supervision, follows established procedures in performing a variety of clerical functions relating to voter registration and preparing for elections; maintains record system.

Essential Duties

• Registers voters through mail and in person
• Processes voter withdrawal
• Responds to phone inquiries regarding voter registration and elections
• Inputs data to computer
• Performs research using computer
• Serves as an election judge

Other Duties

Performs other duties as designated.

Specific Characteristics

• Performs routine work according to established standards
• Prepares voter lists and records relating to work performed
• Works regularly with some information which is generally limited
• Discretion and integrity are recognized requirements for the job
• Responsible for equipment that is used in performing duties
• Position requires substantial contact with the public
• Hazards and discomforts are minor and controllable
