Seasonal Distribution Yard Associate

About the role

This is a physical job requiring someone to assist with off-loading trains and barges, shovel, use hand tools, and maintain conveyors. Work involves exposure to varying weather conditions and operating heavy equipment like wheel loaders, skid steers, and excavators.

Responsibilities

• Assist with off-loading trains and barges
• Shovel and use hand tools
• Maintain conveyors
• Work in a team environment, ensuring safety for all team members
• Participate in team meetings to discuss upcoming loads, assignments, and safety talks
• Work with a continuous improvement mindset
• Occasionally work on Saturdays and Sundays as needed

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work a varying schedule including evenings and weekends
• Previous experience working in similar outdoor environments (plant, construction site, or distribution yard)
• Experience running heavy equipment and using hand tools
• Previous experience with rail or barge operations (a plus)
• Welding and cutting skills (a plus)

Pay and Schedule

The pay starts at $24.38 per hour. This is a seasonal position up to 6 months.
