Seasonal Building Services Attendant

About the Role

Join our team at Canterbury Park, where you'll experience the excitement of the entertainment industry. As a Building Service Attendant, you'll maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout our facility, supporting live horse racing, our Card Casino, Racebook, and Expo Center. This role involves cleaning duties, event setup, and ensuring the building is prepared for daily operations while upholding our mission to provide fun and games like no other place.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example with a high degree of hospitality and a positive, professional demeanor.
• Foster teamwork, collaboration, and morale while delegating tasks and mentoring team members.
• Clean all areas of the building, including dusting, mopping, disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, and washing windows.
• Empty and reline trash cans; monitor and maintain the garbage compactor, and break down boxes.
• Restock bathrooms as needed.
• Assist with event setup and ensure the building is ready for daily business operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years or older.
• Able to stack, move, and set up chairs and tables.
• Must pass Canterbury Park’s pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check and work history verification.
• Must be able to obtain an MRC license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Housekeeping experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to operate a pressure washer.

• Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stopping, twisting, bending, and climbing.
• Repetitive movements and frequent use of wrists or hands.
• Flexible schedule required; available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays during the live racing season (May–September).
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to wear and operate a 35 lbs. backpack vacuum or blower.
