Seasonal Beauty Advisor

About the Role

The Seasonal Beauty Advisor (BA) is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for all Ulta Beauty guests by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked with merchandise, maintaining overall store cleanliness, and completing tasks as assigned. This role supports the leadership team through a focus on performance (service/retail sales and in-store events), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge are required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service to their needs, answering questions, informing guests about promotions, and recommending complementary products/services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
• Stay informed about new and existing products/services, including their ingredients and benefits, to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, for continuous professional development.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
• Keep assigned work area replenished, signed, faced, and ensure testers are available.
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall cleanliness, including salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory, and processing/unloading shipments.
• Follow loss prevention best practices and provide exceptional guest service to protect company assets.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma is preferred.
• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.
• Demonstrates a passion for guest service and competency for selling.
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices).
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule

Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

• Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
• Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shift.
• Continuous and/or frequent lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 25 lbs. during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
